Volume Calculator

Calculate the volume of various 3D shapes including Spheres, Cylinders, Cones, and Pyramids. Support for standard and custom shapes with unit conversion.

Complete User Guide

Find out how much space a 3D object occupies with these steps:

Step 1: Select your shape (Cube, Rectangular Prism, Sphere, Cylinder, Cone, or Pyramid).

Step 2: Enter the required dimensions (Length, Width, Height, Radius, etc.). Ensure all inputs use the same units.

Step 3: Click "Calculate Volume."

Step 4: Review the results. The calculator will provide: - The Volume in cubic units (e.g., cubic inches). - The Surface Area of the shape. - The equivalent capacity in Liters and Gallons. - The visual formula used for that specific shape.

The Mathematical Formula
Sphere: V = (4/3)πr³

The volume represents 'space' and is always measured in cubic units:

1. Cube: V = s³ 2. Rectangular Prism: V = L × W × H 3. Sphere: V = (4/3)πr³ 4. Cylinder: V = πr²h 5. Cone: V = (1/3)πr²h 6. Pyramid: V = (1/3) * Base Area * h

Note: The cone and pyramid formulas are exactly 1/3 of their respective 'straight' counterparts (cylinder and prism), a useful geometric relationship to remember.

About Volume Calculator

The Volume Calculator is a foundational tool for logistics, manufacturing, and construction. Whether you are calculating how much concrete is needed for a foundation, how many liters of water a pool will hold, or the shipping volume of a boxed product, this tool provides instant and accurate results. Volume calculations often involve Pi and cubic exponents, which are easy to miscalculate by hand. By providing both the volume and the liquid capacity (liters/gallons), this tool serves as a comprehensive resource for both physical design and fluid storage planning.
