Cake portions are calculated based on the surface area of the cake shape:

- Round Cake: Area = π × (Diameter / 2)² - Square Cake: Area = Side Length² - Rectangle Cake: Area = Length × Width

We then divide the total area by the standard portion area: - Wedding Portion: 2 sq in (usually 1" x 2") - Party Portion: 3 sq in (usually 1.5" x 2")
